Hi Lam Chun Fai Sigung,
My name is Joseph Tien and I am a student of Sifu Bob Rosen Wah Lum Kung-fu and a student of Sifu John Lee Chow of On Leong/ Ping Chiu Hung Gar. I wanted to know if your father had some former classmates who taught Hung Gar Kung-fu in Vietnam b/c I want to know my own lingeage. Sifu John Lee Chow was born in Vietnam, but his nationality was Chinese. He was a famous liondancer in Saigon. I'm sure that you probablt have heard of Winchell Woo. Chow Sifu and Sifu Woo opend Ping Chiu Hung Gar Kung-fu in Springfield, MA. They agreed on one thing before establishing Ping Chiu Hung Gar Kung-fu School. They both agreed that Chow Sifu only teaches liondance and Woo Sifu only teaches Kung-fu. What am I part of?

Patrick Henry from Kung Fu Si Lum Hung Gar in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, writes:
Hi, i'm a student at the kung fu si lum hung gar in Montreal. My masters are two brothers of the Hong family. There is a lot of students at my school.
I would like to see articles on this site on Hung gar kung fu. It would be interesting that the teachers who wrote on this internet site write some articles on there perception of the art and it would be interesting to see biography of great masters. I frequently look in magazyne to see articles on hung gar kung fu, but they are very rare. Some time's i think Hun gar kung fu is less popular than other style of kung fu. For me it's not a ? of being popular but i would like to read more about hung gar kun Fu and the masters. I am lucky to have masters that are excellent teachers. They have there hone style of teaching and the two together complete themself.
I would like to receave articles on hung gar and discuss the art whith students and teachers. So this is my e-mail.

When I was a young hot headed man with big ideas and not much talent, SiFu Steven Ornalas(sorry for spelling never could get it right)put me on the right side of the tracks. I'm not sure that he really new me or how important the training and experience we as a team of 30 students shared shaped me and my life. I am now a project manager for a world wide steel erecting firm. I gained my determination and strength from a no lose attitude needed to even slightly win in the world of hung gar. Standing on one leg for 1/2 an hour gave me a real sense of balance, hence I have developed this into my living,i.e. building sky scrapers.I Miss Liverpool. Good luck all. Keep the good work going. Tom Militello from Marshall's Hung Fist Boxing in Louisville, KY, USA, writes:
It is amazing how people are so fooled by weak and money driven styles and schools. I believe in Hung Gar and my Sifu Mike Marshall. I have spent time with Sifu Donald Hamby and though both Sifu's styles of teaching are very different the message is the same, HUNG! I love my Sifu like my brother, I have tried so hard to help him and our school be succesful, with mixed results. In Louisville, KY there are so many fake and weak schools. People fall for there belts, ego and fake systems, and in my opinion weak styles that have become a money machine, like Tae Kwon Do. My Sifu and I struggle everyday just to pay the bills and keep the school open, let alone keep food on Sifu's table. Why do people not SEE! Hung Gar and the Lam family have a very rich tradition of Kung Fu, strong, powerfull and REAL! People are so blind! It makes me crazy! —August 02nd 2002

Adam Griggs from in Troy, MI, USA, writes:
Sifu Lam,
My greatest repects. I have looked at the Hung Gar style in books, not to learn, as I do not believe you can perfect styles from books, but simply to study the style, and see how appealing it is.
